Oaks Challenge Walk
The Oaks Challenge Walk is a route of 22 miles through the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, taking in two high points, Bardon Hill and Beacon Hill.
The route begins and ends at the Oaks Scout Campsite and can be undertaken in a number of ways
- As a group challenge at any time of the year
- As an expedition training walk split over 2 days (commencing the walk at Bradgate Park and using the Oaks as the overnight Stop)
- As a sponsored walk
Groups intending to undertake the challenge should download the route from this site Before undertaking the walk Groups should register with the Oaks Campsite and on completion submit the form for issue of certificates and badges. The badges cost £1 each.
Map reading and navigation skills are essential within the group.
